WHO describes the student you have used this particular app with. WHERE indicates whether the app was used at home, school, or in therapy. HOW describes the manner in which you used it. This is also the place to elaborate on other ideas for application. We invite anyone else who has used the app to comment on anything about it... different whos, hows and....

Doodle Buddy is advertised as a simple drawing app, but I find it useful for creating non-talking versions of communication displays. An idea from Caroline Musselwhite to practice sight words or word families, is to play "Wordo" Bingo games. (Wordo Tip of the Month). I used this idea in a K-8 MH classroom with a group of 6 students who are just learning about letter and word combinations. We made a screenshot of a communication board created in GoTalk NOW, and loaded it into Doodle Buddy as a photo background. Then we could use the stamps to mark which words were called off when playing Bingo. One student used the DoodleBuddy app, while the others marked their own paper displays with paint blotters.Photo Oct 27, 2 50 52 PM.pngPhoto Oct 27, 2 36 24 PM.jpg

I plan to use SceneSpeak as another Bingo board option, since I can make a 2-page book, one with sounds (recorded or text) and one without. SceneSpeak can highlight which sounds (hotspots) have been played (as pictured above).

I haven't paid to hide ads and still find this my go-to drawing app for many applications. I like changing the color and font for text as well as drawing. The backgrounds are great, and I find myself using it regularly to make notes on my photos.
